A Message from Supporters of the New Cambridge Mosque
Dear friends,
Peace be with you and Ramadan Mubarak to you all!
We hope that this month finds you in the best of blessings and goodness for you and your loved ones. Every Friday rows of worshipers here in the city of Cambridge, England are forced to line up on the streets as they spill out of the mosque that no longer contains them. We have outgrown our spaces and there is no doubt that Cambridge needs a purpose built mosque. Take a look:
This Ramadan, on the 30th of August / the 21st night of our blessed month, Channel S (UK satellite 814, live stream: http://www.chsuk.tv/) will host a LIVE APPEAL in support of building the first purpose built mosque in Cambridge and the first fully eco-friendly mosque in Europe. The mosque will follow models of sustainability and renewable energy coupling them with a design that uniquely reflects the city of Cambridge and the surrounding area. (The architect of the mosque, Marks Barfield is the same person who designed the London Eye and the Kew Treetop walkway).
This Ramadan, we need your help.
The goal of the Cambridge New Mosque Project this month is to inshAllah raise £1 million by the 30th of August / the 21st night of Ramadan, the night of the LIVE APPEAL.
One night. One million.
In order to reach this goal, so many of us across the country and the world for that matter are banding together to raise funds for this necessary and important cause. Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad comments on the Mosque Project that ‘‘this building will be truly inclusive, sustainable, safe, secure and respectful of the neighbourhood. It will be a landmark building which will inject new life into the Mill Road area of Cambridge of which the local and wider Cambridge community can be proud.“
All of you, in your near and far corners of the world can help us make the first purpose built mosque in Cambridge a reality. There are several ways to contribute to our project:

1. If you are a UK taxpayer and can qualify for Gift Aid, you can make a direct donation to our Just Giving site (all funds collected between now and the end of Ramadan will count towards our Ramadan Appeal). Just click ‘make a donation’.
2. If you are outside of the UK you can visit our website and make a direct donation via paypal and also find out how to mail in your donations or set up a bank transfer.

We need you to call, text or email your donations on the night of the Live Appeal to Channel S. If we can get over a 1,000 people to call in, we can hit our target of £1 million inshAllah!
