Writing Anti-Islamic Articles

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Question: Allah willing, I will soon be working as a secretary, and my job consists of typing out written work. However, if I ever have to type something which constitutes disbelief (kufr) or harms Muslims, is it permissible to do it? Should I type only other parts of the work and leave out the “offending” part, asking them to fill it in?

Answer: In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray that this finds you well, and in the best of health and spirits. May Allah grant you all good and success in this life and the next.

Typing such things, when it is not one’s primary occupation, is not impermissible, as your own work (i.e., “typing”) is permissible.
