Is There Any Evidence That Previous Scriptures Were Corrupted?

Is It Permitted to Read the Qur’an Backwards?

Hanafi Fiqh

Answered by Ustadh Tabraze Azam

Question: Assalam alaykum

Is it permitted to read the Qur’an backwards?

I have been told that it can stop black magic.

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I’m unaware of such a ruling.

Reciting the Qur’an backwards is wrong and not religiously legislated. The jurists explicitly affirmed the dislikedness of reciting the various chapters (surahs) in reverse order, let alone the words themselves.
