Hiring Technology Manager

Overview

SeekersGuidance Global Islamic Seminary is hiring a qualified Technology Manager with strong project management, diverse IT, and solid people-management skills.

The incumbent’s main responsibility will be the stewardship of our Technology function – encompassing our (a) website and its hosting; (b) content management system; (c) learning management system; and (d) other supporting systems.

Key Job Parameters

    • Status: Full-Time

 

    • Location: Flexible, though Toronto is a preference (our head office)

 

    • Remuneration: commensurate with qualifications and experience

 

Requirements

    • Ability to manage our key tech systems, including:

 

      1. Content Management System (WordPress)
      2. Learning Management System (Moodle)
      3. Donor Management System
      4. Mailing List System
      5. Project Management System
      6. And related supporting systems
    • Ensure proper hosting, security, and speed of our website.

 

    • Develop and document processes and procedures for a complete tech architecture.

 

    • Identified skill sets encompassing coding and related tech systems development.

 

    • Manage our tech roadmap, with effective and rapid deployment of required projects to ensure that SeekersGuidance Global’s educational services are offered in the best possible ways.

 

    • Identify and manage effective external service provider expertise and relationships for projects, where required.

 

Candidate Profile and Skills

    • University degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of work experience.

 

    • Strong project management skills—ideally with 3-5 years working experience with project management principles.

 

    • Strong, diverse tech skills to be able to manage SeekersGuidance’s diverse tech requirements.

 

    • Effective people manager, able to lead a team – of staff, interns, and volunteers – open to direction with a collaborative work style and an unflinching commitment to getting the job done in a fast-paced, dynamic community service context.

 

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
