As believers, we see martyrdom as an honour to be recognized and—while feeling loss for death and the wrong underlying it—we rejoice in Allah’s honouring of those servants who live and die upholding Truth and Good.
A radiant example of this sacrifice is Imam Husayn ibn Ali (Allah be pleased with him), the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), martyred tragically at Karbala on the 10th of Muharram.
Shaykh Faraz Rabbani explains who we understand this loss, but also asks us the critical question: what is our sacrifice? where is our steadfastness? what are we doing with our life, our time, and in the choices we make in life?
