How Can I Deal With Living With My Brother's Drug Problem?

I Feel That My Mind Is Possessed. What Can I Do?

Answered by Shaykh Abdurragmaan Khan

Question: Assalam alaykum,

I have previously told you how I have been affected with misgivings about disbelief.

But now, especially in prayer, I feel that my mind is possessed.

Is it possible that somebody is giving me these kind of thoughts through sorcery?

Answer: Wa alaykum al-Salam

Shukran for your question.

I’m not too sure what previous answer you may have received, but the following is some general advice on how one could protect oneself.

1. Be punctual in reciting al-Wird al-Latif in the mornings after Fajr. If you not able to recite it yourself, at least listen to a recording.
2. Recite the Ratib al-Haddad every evening after magrib or least listen to it.
3. Make sure that you are generally in a state of purity, especially when going to bed.
3. Recite surahs al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq, al-Nas and Ayah al-Kursi every evening before sleeping. After reciting these chapters, blow into your hands and wipe it over your entire body.
4. Recite surah al-Baqarah often in your home or have it playing aloud.

Prior to Salah do the following:
1. Bring to mind the greatness of Allah in front of whom you’ll be standing.
2. Also, recite surah al-Nas before entering into prayer.

Continue doing the above for a week or two, if you experience no progress, then it might be advisable to visit a trustworthy Raqi. Emphasis on trustworthy.

May Allah protect us all, Amin.

Wassalam
