Question: Assalam alaykum,

1. I have placed a tissue paper over my penis after istinja due to dripping of urine. Is it problematic to pray without removing that tissue?

2. After removing the tissue I see some small dust (particles) of tissue sticking to my penis and underwear. Is that dust impure?

3. Does placing a tissue over the penis nullify one’s fast?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

Praying Without Removing Tissue

You must remove the tissue and ensure that your private parts are not impure prior to praying. Not doing so would render the prayer invalid, because of the existence of impurities.

Are Tissue Remains Impure?

Tiny tissue particles are not impure, unless you believe that they have come into direct contact with an impurity, namely, urine. In that case, you would need to remove them and clean both your private parts and your clothes. Otherwise, simply wash your private parts after removal of the tissue.

Does tissue or other aids placed over the private parts nullify the fast?

No, putting something over one’s private parts does not nullify one’s fast.
