Question: Assalamu alaykum

When one has years of missed prayers then one gives adhan only for the very first of those missed prayer?

Answer: Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatah,

Dear questioner,

While it is correct that is is technically true that is recommended to call the adhan for each make-up prayer, if you have years of make-ups, one should make it a priority to finish the daily amount that one has scheduled for yourself. Once you have met that target, then you can start adding extra sunnas like the adhan.

The key is consistency. Don’t let the Devil pull you aside with sunnas. He’s very good at convincing us to do the sunna (the extra) instead of the fard (obligatory).

I pray this helps.

Wassalam,
