Embracing Excellence – 13 – Cleanliness (from Imam Haddad’s Book of Assistance)- Ustadh Amjad Tarsin

Imam Haddad characteristically begins his chapter on cleanliness in the Book of Assistance not with outward but inward cleanliness — purifying the heart from character traits he describes as “vile”: envy, showing off, and so forth. And when he moves on to outward cleanliness, he first looks at purifying one’s outward from sin and adorning it with virtue, before moving on to discussions of ritual purity and outward cleanliness according to the sunna.
